Shed Floor 2x4 Or 2x6

shed floor 2x4 or 2x6

Step 2: how to build a shed floor click here if you want to build your shed on a concrete slab. if you live in an exceptionally wet area or have a major termite problem you might want to use pressure treated wood for the entire floor including the skids, the floor joists and the plywood sheeting.. I am in the process of building a 10x16 shed with 2x6 floor joists. i received my lumber package yesterday and noticed the 2x6x16 are missing to frame the floor (band joist). i called the lumber yard and they told me it is common to frame the floor with 2x4's and use the 2x6 as the floor joist. is this common? i have never heard of this and it sounds weird to me.. A gravel floor can be used if you are building a pole style building.-pressure treated lumber vs. standard lumber. the best material for building the floor of your shed is pressure treated lumber. you can certainly use regular non pt but it won’t last very long being that close to the ground.-how high off the ground?.
